Well, 2015 is almost in the books. It has been another good growth year for Your Friend 4 Life. We brought in the Wellness Company in July and it is a game changer! We are working with two clients alone that have nearly 80,000 employees between them! But, one of the things I also review every year is how my blogs did over the course of the year. What subjects were most popular, where blogs were promoted, how the blogs were promoted in order to learn and adapt to be better in 2016. Here is what I learned about my top 5 blogs of 2015 using “Google Analytics”.

The most read blog of 2015 was Do You Smoke an Occasional Cigar?. This blog was written last year and ranked second of my best blogs 2014. This can mean one of two things, my writing has really started slipping, well maybe, or two and more likely, this blog title gets searched a lot on the search engines. The lesson I learned here is the secret to a well searched blog is in the title of what people are looking for in their searches.

The second most read blog was Life Insurance is a Waste of Money. I learned this technique by attending Dr. Ivan Misner’s course of Author Mentorship. The technique of titling a blog that is controversial, but writing in favor of is called the “Straw Man”. The title is so offensive it draws in the reader thinking how could someone write that, but the reader soon learns the blog is pro-life insurance in this case. I cannot argue with the results of the “Straw Man” it was highly read and commented on.

The third most read blog did very well, Stop Complaining, No One Cares. It was the third most read but drew the most comments of any blog in 2015. I was even shocked that some people are pro-complainers. I believe this blog did very well because complaining is a wide spread problem and almost everyone is effected by a complainer. The lesson I learned here is write blogs that readers easily relate. Again title is very important.

The fourth most read blog of 2015 was Is Obamacare the End of the Health Insurance Agent? This blog was also written in 2014 and was the most read blog of 2014. Why would this blog be a top 5 blog two years in a row? I believe this is a title that is searched a lot through the search engines. The ACA law a.k.a. Obamacare has driven out scores of health insurance companies, decreased commissions and put hundreds of thousands of health insurance agents out of the health insurance business. Agents are afraid and they are searching for articles of advice. I put in the research for this blog and it is paying off for us in traffic.

The fifth and last best blog of 2015 is Is Networking Important to Grow Business? I believe this blog did well because of searches as well. Every business owner wishes to grow their business. Networking is by far the most cost effective way to market your business and yet most business owners and sales people have no idea how to network. They think they know how to network but usually fail miserably. I wanted to give the basic tips to remember when networking.

I hope you find the explanations helpful when writing your blogs in 2016. If you don’t blog, now is the time to start, stop procrastinating and start writing to help your fellow business people.
